Born To Be Wild

Formed in 2015 around the nucleus of guitarist Adam Mackie and singer John Drake, the Dust Coda developed their sound the following year with award winning producer Clint Murphy.

Their self-released debut was released in 2017 and the band was nominated as one of Planet Rock’s Best New Acts of the year.

Four-track acoustic EP Early Days – Raw And Unplugged kept the ball rolling during the first lockdown.

And prior to the pandemic The Dust Coda shared stages with Black Stone Cherry, The Dead Daisies and Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris.

Last year’s Mojo Skyline landed inside the UK’s top 30.

What We Said

Forged in the finest traditions of British hard rock, [2021 single] Breakdown reinforces The Dust Coda’s reputation as the rising stars of the NWOCR scene.

There’s more than a hint of early Chris Cornell in frontman John Drake’s assured delivery.

And Adam Mackie’s emotive axework perfectly complements one of the most exciting singers on the UK scene.

Remember when Stone Gods, the much-missed side project of The Darkness’s Dan Hawkins, first burst onto the scene?

Thirteen years down the line and The Dust Coda are the heirs apparent to that short-lived but brilliant project.
